Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 10:25AM As you might have guessed by the amount of posting over the last two months, school is keeping me very busy, so I thought since I could share this assignment I would. This week one of my assignments was to use digital storytelling to tell a story. This was probably one of my favorite assignments this semester... so far.
I chose to tell the story of our move using still photos, music and iMovie. I was introduced to a great resource called Dig CC Mixter which has a variety of music that can be used without having to pay royalties. Each poster can choose how there music can be used, but most have broad permissions for using the music for non-comercial purposes. I will use Dig CC Mixter, again I am sure.

Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 9:17AM We spent last weekend in Napa for a marriage retreat with our church. We enjoyed the down time in a new place and decided Napa is somewhere we should explore again. It is only about a hour and a half away, so we don't even really need a whole weekend. The retreat was wonderful and helped us start some great conversations and reminded us to serve one another. Serving one another should be common sense in a relationship, but like everything else it never hurts for the reminder. The retreat was a wonderful excuse to visit Napa.
On Saturday evening, we had time to out to dinner. We chose to try a BBQ and wine place called Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin’ BBQ. It was wonderful. We shared a platter and tried two different flights of wines that were suggested to us by our server to go along with our meal. Joel and I don't know much if anything about wine and happily took his advice. The wine was delicious and enhanced our meal. It is a place we would love to go back and may even have to drag some of our out of town guests there in April and May.

Our food: ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket.
